In February I finally completed a first draft of my first-ever feature length screenplay collaboration with another writer. DUST is the title of the piece. It's a indie-horror script in the vein of low budget 90s vampire classics like NADJA and THE ADDICTION, with small nods towards more recent fare like HBO's TRUE BLOOD.
I want to give a special shout-out to my partner on this project, Betty Garcia. Betty took one of my online screenwriting classes at Austin Community College. I was so impressed with her ability that after she left ACC, I invited her to work with me on DUST. My instincts about her proved to be correct, as she brought a distinctive voice to the characters and a great direction to the story. I'm really hoping that I'll be able to convince her to work with me again, hint hint. In the meantime, she'll be my cowriter and business partner on this one particular screenplay.
